I thought of Dad as I read Tim Russert's book: "Wisdom of Our Fathers" (Lessons and Letters from Daughters and Sons); which was really good. Some things that my Dad taught me to love: -early morning-"seeing the sunrise" and enjoying that part of the day; -cereal perferably "Wheaties"; and even to wait for warm milk! -work ethic -manners: always acknowledge anyone who enters the room -save your "penny's", they will add up! I can't pass one up, that I don't pick it up and think of him. -to learn and be educated; exp. tornados; wanting us to see the funnel but yet respecting it's strength "now, run for the basement!!" -caramel corn on rainy days (after moving to Minnesota I had to back off on at least every other rainy day! -picnics by the tractor tire -these are just a few things that come to mind.
You young fathers would learn alot about your important role you have in your child(rens) lives by reading it. I really enjoyed it, and hope some of you do too. Happy Birthday Dad Kathie
