ABC News--Brain Surgery!

I don't know if anyone watched the ABC National news last night (18th). They showed a surgeron from Mayo Clinic doing the Deep Brain Stimulation procedure on a patient (a violinist from the Mpls. orchestra). He has essential tremors, which is similar to Parkinson's. Anway, the surgery was successful--and that will be my surgeon on April 5th at Mayo. So that makes me feel more confident. I go down April 1st for all the prelims---go home--stop my medicine on Sunday and the surgery is scheduled for 5:30 AM the 5th!! Kathie Nordtvedt

Dawna Threadgold Felix

since before Christmas Dawna has ven in and out or the hospital and rehab.Her granddaughter Tamara and fiance have been living with her so when we called a couple weeks ago to inquire how Dawna was feeling Tamara said she was back in the hospital. The following is a reply from Dee(her daughter) on Dawna's current state of health. Dawna is currently in a convelescent care facility with not much hope of returning home for quite some time, if ever. She requires 24 hour care and is on oxygen 24 hours a day. She has lost a lot of her cognnetive skills and does not have much of a memory.She is now taking aricept and it has helped but she has difficulty rationalizing things.
