It's my first try at posting, so hope it turns out OK.
I'm Karen Pekar from West Virginia. (Betty Threadgold Fitzgerald's oldest.)
Does anyone have photos of Grandpa Harvey with his team ready for a parade or the Christmas "run"?
Any photos of the Grothoug side of the family? I have a photocopied booklet, but I'd love to see the actual photos. David Threadgold drew the cover in 1970.
As I opened up today's blog, I was remembering a time (probably in the 50's) when Robert, Doris and the family drove to Baltimore, Maryland to visit our family. Even with the time change, Robert was still up and around early--not the norm for us city slickers.

Nicole, Olivia, Alec and I just passed through West Virginia this past Tuesday on our way to see Thomas, Terri and Anna Threadgold in Richmond, VA. I new Betty's family was in WV, but no idea where. I believe Robert and Doris drove out there in the mid 90's to visit, but didn't stay long... I'm sure grandpa didn't want to be away from the farm too long, as I think he still had the cattle to count and maybe even a few eggs to gather.
Anyway interesting timing that you sent this, because I was discussing this with Nicole as we were driving through WV.
We are in Orlando for the week, then on to Tampa for a couple days with Thomas, Terri, Anna, and Terri's family then slowly heading back up north. Hopefully the warm weather follows us back!

Russ and I both live in the eastern panhandle of WV--easternmost (about 70 miles west of Washington DC). My son Ryan is at West Virginia University in Morgantown. In the small world department, my oldest son Jeff lives in Tampa. He's a lawyer there.
I can remember Robert and Doris' visit. Mom was so happy to have them here. I can remember Robert being so surprised that we had green grass in the middle of winter. I also remember going to Baltimore for a visit with Doris and the grandkids.
