Another book
I thought of this book when I read that it was the 2nd anniversary of the Amish school shooting this past week and when I mentioned it to Dale, he knew right where it was. The Happening is an easy reading and tearful book by an Amish author, Harvey Yoder. It gives true details of the Amish school shooting woven into a story told through the eyes and heart of a young survivor. I got the book from our former Hutterite neighbor who works for an Amish man who came from the community and was a neighbor of the man who did the shooting.

This story hits close to home--because the shooter was Roger's employee. He was a truck driver for Northwest Foods; Roger hired him; he was a good man who snapped; Roger had to leave to go meet with the wife and parents right after Derek & Janelle's wedding I beleive. Hardest thing he had to do. Sad than and still is when you think about it. Kathie
