I was assigned the job of scanning some old photos for the blog. This is my first test case. I laughed at this one -- I remember the skunk hunt. I especially remember Jim Dahl getting sick after being sprayed and how angry Mom was with our smell. I thought this photo had been lost.

Now that I'm "almost professional" at the scanning, editing and uploading, I'll try to find some more to add.

Snow Day today

Our snow was almost gone but we got another 10 inches today with strong winds. This picture was on Keloland from Big Stone Lake. Now we have 3 days to make up.

For the White House!!

My youngest son Ty, is a senior at SDSU and he just took on a night shift job at the Rainbow Play Centers (the children's outdoor playcenters you see). Anyway, he stained etc. all the wood, & packaged it for President Obama! Shipped today! He thought that was kind of neat! Kathie

Old photos

I've been going through old photos while I'm recovering from knee replacement. I found a little booklet (the way they were developed back then) of maybe a 1953 family reunion in Fedora. One has all the cousins arranged by height--a pretty long line. Then there's one of each family group as of the early 50's. My mom, Betty Fitzgerald, made "Wonder Bread" dresses for us three girls and herself. Too bad the photo is in black and white. I can still see the primary color dots in my memory. If I get my scanner up, I'll try to post some of them. Pretty cute.

Karen: Phyllis and I went into our old photo albums to see if we had any pictures that you wanted and found none. When Donald and family cleaned out the Threadgold home some time ago theymay have seen some. While I am posting this We are wondering if any one who reads this blog has heard or knows about John Anderson? He is Harold and Ethel Anderson's son. Ethel Anderson was a sister of your grandmother Gertrude. It is funny how some questions and thoughts of past freinds and relatives pop into ones head at unexpected times. Jim & Phyllis

Hello Threadgolds

It's my first try at posting, so hope it turns out OK.

I'm Karen Pekar from West Virginia. (Betty Threadgold Fitzgerald's oldest.)

Does anyone have photos of Grandpa Harvey with his team ready for a parade or the Christmas "run"?

Any photos of the Grothoug side of the family? I have a photocopied booklet, but I'd love to see the actual photos. David Threadgold drew the cover in 1970.

As I opened up today's blog, I was remembering a time (probably in the 50's) when Robert, Doris and the family drove to Baltimore, Maryland to visit our family. Even with the time change, Robert was still up and around early--not the norm for us city slickers.

Fire

I do not know what happened to the pictures that I posted. They are from a fire that happened a couple of weeks ago and were taken by a student of mine. Charlies was a bar, cafe, and grocery store all in one and was one of the few businesses in Revillo. There are no plans to rebuild.
